Friends of Oignies : Summer Social
This was our first non-virtual social event for a year and a half! ... and it was wonderful to finally meet up again in real life, with a good number of our members, both young and old enjoying each other's company.
It was a pity we couldn't have organised some virtual weather, but unfortunately the forecast was of the typical British Summer BBQ variety - wet and windy! In the event it wasn't too bad, and apart from a couple of light showers it stayed mostly dry, and luckily we had the refuge of Joan and Noels excellent conservatory.
All in all it turned out to be a really worthwhile event, and great to meet for catch up and a bit of a chat. The BBQ sizzled and spirits remained resolutely undampened, probably due to Sue and Karen mixing copious quantities of Pimm's for general consumption...
We must organise another similar get-together soon!
Thank you to all of our members who braved the weather forecast and came along, and a really big thank you to Joan and Noel for the loan of their garden - and conservatory.
