Un Château Français à Buxton ?
L’hôtel de Ville de Buxton s’ouvrit en 1889, l’édifice étant conçu au style d'un château français. Le site où se trouve l’hôtel actuellement était occupé par des halles de marché jusqu’à ce qu ’un incendie les détruisît le septembre de 1885. L’horloge sur la tour fut donnée par le Duc du Devonshire.
La liaison française demeure toujours !
The Town Hall opened in 1889 and was designed in the style of a French château. The site of the present Town Hall was previously occupied by a Market Hall but this was destroyed by a fire in September 1885. The clock on the tower was a gift from the Duke of Devonshire.
The French connection lives on!
