Friends of Oignies : Soirée Dansante
Merci bien to all the Friends of Oignies, along with friends of Friends, and family, who came along to our Soirée Dansante (Dance supper) on Friday evening.
It was a great night all round, with live jazz and blues from the excellent Basin Street Band, and not forgetting Andy Collier who led the assembled company in a rousing rendition of la Marseillaise! (See picture below).
40 people attended the supper, and we raised a very respectable £240 on the night, which will go towards hosting our Amis from Oignies during future twinning visits.
Many thanks to Sue Quas-Cohen and Karen Done for organising a thoroughly enjoyable (and profitable) event.
Thanks also to Catherine and Steve at the Con Club, for an excellent buffet and the very convivial venue.
