Visit to Buxton Easter, 2017
L'Harmonie de Oignies at Shrigley Hall
From Yvette Ribot-Smith and family, first time twinners in April 2017...
"Absolutely loved it . It was such a great opportunity for my children to meet up with my compatriots. I am originally French but unfortunately I have very little contact with my family in France. I enjoyed speaking french and my eldest daughter had the opportunity to practice her french also. The family we linked up with was lovely as well as their friends and their host family made us feel really welcome. We enjoyed all the activities and everyone was so kind.
We can't wait to go to Oignies next year...
Looking forward to meeting you .
A bientôt mes amis.
Yvette. Alan. Nadia and Sophia."

Jane McGrother's Tree, in the Park at Buxton, is decorated during the visit. (Left)
This tree was planted to celebrate the life of Jane, who as well as acting as chair of the association, has made a huge contribution to both the Town Twinning and the local community over many years.
Jane was a former mayor of High Peak, and as a councillor represented both High Peak borough and Derbyshire county councils.
Jane passed away in 2017 aged 77.
Au revoir à nos amis français, à 2018 alors!
